The ACUP prepares a list of internationalization indicators of the Catalan public university system

The ACUP works to identify and define on a limited list of indicators that can show the internationalization of the Catalan public university system. The list will also be used to create a database in order to obtain meaningful statistics and information internationalization of the university system. This initiative is carried out by a special commission ACUP and expert on international relations at public universities, and in collaboration with the Inter-University Council of Catalonia (CIC).

The initiative stems from the lack of information systems and common indicators in the field of internationalization of Catalan university system showed by the International public universities 2010-15 plan. This plan establishes the need to improve the international position and public universities in international rankings. Responding to this, the ACUP has worked alongside with the Indicators for Mapping and Profiling Internationalization (IMPI) project. This project  project is coordinated by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) and has developed a tool to measure the profiles of internationalization of higher education institutions, using comparable indicators and targets, and introduce proposals to improve the international positioning of universities.
