ACUP visits Israel to learn about its university and research system
Between 26 and 30 May a delegation of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) and the Government of Catalonia has visited Israel in order to deepen the knowledge about the university system of innovation in this country and in particular to understand the policies and incentive mechanisms for knowledge transfer and university-corporate relations.
The delegation, comprising Ferran Sancho, ACUP president and rector of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Antoni Castellà, Secretary for Universities and Research, Lluis Jofre, General Director of Universities, and Josep M. Martorell, General Director of Research, has visited the three better placed universities in the international rankings: Tel-Aviv University, Technion and Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The Catalan delegation also met with the Council for Higher Education, the Chief Scientist Office, Saul Singer -author of the book 'Start-Up Nation'- and Ziv Shomron, a consultant in knowledge transfer.
