One hundred participants discussed the role of Higher Education in the Post-2015 Agenda

On Thursday 11th December was held the international seminar "The World Beyond 2015: Is Higher Education ready?" organized by the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi) and the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP). The seminar was focused on the role of universities in the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda Post-2015. Rectors, Vice-Rectors, representatives of government and civil society analyzed the current situation in the Catalan universities highlighting the vital role that the institutions of Higher Education have in the implementation of objectives and critical analysis, as well as the establishment of systems for measuring the impact on the implementation of these objectives.

The speakers and participants felt that universities play a key role (and still will be higher in the coming years) on sustainable development and post-2015 targets. During the seminar specific projects and experiences that allow to activate the role of universities in the development of post-2015 targets in their various fields (education, scientific research, innovation and development) were also analysed.
