Successful International Seminar on Industrial PhDs

On Tuesday, September 23, the International Seminar on Industrial PhDs was held in the modernist Sant Pau in Barcelona. A hundred people attended to the event, promoted by the ACUP (Catalan Association of Public Universities) and the Catalan Government. The Rector of the UAB and secretary of the Association, Ferran Sancho, and Lluís Jofre, university general director of the Catalan government took part on the seminar. The event offered a platform to discuss the current situation on the strategy plan that promotes Industrial Doctorates in Catalonia, in collaboration with public and private universities. The plan's objectives are to contribute to the competitiveness and internationalization of Catalan industry, retain talent and placing doctoral students able to develop R + D + I in a company. At the same time, through the participation of experts in the field of industrial doctorates in other European countries, the seminar was a learning space for other similar initiatives.
